The WA Baking Industry Awards continues to evolve and is now not only recognised across West Australia – it is looked upon as a benchmark for baking competitions and awards presentations across Australia.

This year, the awards have included the new specific Gourmet Classes.  Entrants were encouraged to submit and enter different recipes into any classes listed as Gourmet Class.  This enabled entrants to be eligible for Gold, Silver or Bronze Medal certificates based on their scores and they received reward recognition for multiple entries in the same class.

This year we had a record number of over 500 class entries from over 50 bakery entries across WA, entering the Baking Industry Awards Competition.

The Karel van Styn – Baking Excellence Award 2026, which was judged from all entries across the board, was awarded to Pinjarra Bakery!

​We recently held our amazing Awards Gala Dinner evening presented by our Master of Ceremony Adrian Barich from Channel 7 Sports.

 The amazing night included a delicious 3 course dinner and drinks and was filled with 5 star live entertainment:  The fantastic GOGABZ DJ, TAIKO-ON JAPANESE DRUMMING, SKYE JAPANESE KIMONO DANCERS and awards presentations.

 The awards presented, included the 2026 Baking Industry Awards in Pastry and Bread Classes, Open Classes, Gourmet Medal winners, the AG (Tony) Noonan Award Apprentice of the Year Award, the Karel van Styn Baking Excellence Award, as well as the overall Special Awards.

 A wonderful night was had by all and we congratulate all finalists and winners!
